Choosing the Right Scale for Your Dolls
Not sure which template size to download? Here is a quick scale guide:
- 1:12 Scale (1″ = 1′): The classic size for standard traditional dollhouses.
- 1:6 Scale (1″ = 6″): Perfect for standard 11.5-inch / 30cm fashion dolls and action figures.
- 1:3 Scale (1″ = 3″): Ideal for larger play dolls like 18-inch American Girl dolls.
(Note: While making mini crafts is a fantastic family activity, these printable templates are designed for adult crafters or supervised child play due to small parts.
Crafting Supplies & Tools Needed
You don’t need a fancy workshop to craft realistic miniature food—just a few simple craft room staples!
Materials:
Printer & Paper:
For the donut bag: High-resolution paper
For the box, cup, & donuts: Matte photo paper
Donut Base: Scrunched-up brown craft paper (to give the donuts some volume)
Glue: A standard paper glue stick and Mod Podge (for sealing or adding gloss).
Straws:
A toothpick for 1:12 scale.
A wooden skewer for 1:6 scale.
A real paper straw for 1:3 scale.
Tools:
Craft knife / Precision paper cutter
Scissors

Step-by-Step: How to Make Printable Mini Donuts
- Print & Cut:
Print your chosen scale sheet on high-quality matte paper. Carefully cut out the donut toppings, bakery boxes, takeaway bags, and soda cup templates using your craft knife and scissors. - Build the Donut Base:
Scrunch small pieces of brown craft paper into ring shapes. This creates some volume for your donuts. - Assemble the Donuts:
Glue the printed donut icing top and bottom pieces onto your scrunched paper donut base. Add a dab of Mod Podge on top if you want a shiny glazed look! - Fold & Assemble Accessories:
Fold along the fold lines of the donut box and soda cup. Apply glue to the tabs, and hold until secure. Trim a toothpick or skewer to scale to make the soda cup straw.
