I have been working on creating pieces for the bathroom for the dollhouse Ikea Flisat for the past few weeks now. I decided to turn the small room upstairs into the dollhouse bathroom, and the large room into a bedroom. The size of the little room meant that it’s best to have a shower enclosure rather than a bath tub so I styled it out with a shower, cabinet, washing machine and a toilet. What do you think?
I am pretty happy with it, it turned out airy and light as I wanted it to be! I added a plant there to give it an inviting feel.
I like the look of it so much that I think I need to re-visit the design of the kitchen cabinet downstairs and perhaps change the black cabinet into light wood pattern to go with the bathroom.
All the dollhouse miniature pieces are made in 1/12th scale.
The most difficult piece to come up with a template was the toilet by far.
The main part of the toilet was easy, but the toilet bowl did my head in! I went to my toilet countless times to study how it curves – I never thought I would be doing this when all I’m trying to make is dollhouse miniatures.
I almost gave up but in my 8th and last attempt I finally managed it, coming up with a template that is easy to make. In the coming weeks I will be sharing the templates of the bathroom pieces I made here in my blog so make sure to come and check them out.
