How to make a miniature oven in Black

Dark kitchen fittings.
Black kitchens. Navy.
Is it just me or is it a thing now?
They seem to be everywhere in interior images, and it’s one of those things – once you see them, you can’t unsee them.
Well I haven’t been able to.
So I decided to create miniature black kitchen fittings with paper, since it’s not so easy to change the real kitchen!

Do you like black kitchen fittings? Yay or nay?

[1/12th scale miniature oven]

I racked my brain really REALLY hard to create a miniature oven that looks modern, pretty damn cute and “functional” to a certain point.
As with real kitchens, dollhouse kitchen appliances like ovens can create a focal point in a dollhouse kitchen.
It’s important to let it fit in but make a statement at the same time.

The templates come with the inside design of the oven and an oven shelf

I decided to make the oven complete with the inside and an oven shelf.
The door can be opened and miniature food can be placed inside on the shelf, almost like a real oven.

Bonus: 1/12th scale Baking tray and oven mitts printables

I cut out the window part and used an upcycled plastic from a strawberry punnet as the oven window.
The oven hood is complete with a filter design. The top end of the hood pipe can be glued to your dollhouse ceiling.

The miniature oven kit also includes tea towels

Initially I was worried that the black ink may come out uneven and look terrible, but I was pleasantly surprized that the whole look of the dollhouse kitchen turned out so well!

With these pieces, the matt surface adds to the gorgeous feel and I love it.
How do you like the look?
