[donut days]

After months of the media and politicians here talking about “donut days”, it has finally gone to my head and I am craving for donuts.

Here in Australia, our covid strategy has been to suppress the virus vigorously by hard lockdowns and our goal has been to achieve 0 positive cases until we reach the required vaccinated %.

A while ago people started calling the days with zero positives “donut days”, and now there is not a day that goes by without hearing of donuts.

[DIY miniature donuts printable]

Since I can’t get donuts out of my head, I decided to make miniature donuts to calm my cravings down and add to my list of dollhouse food printables.

I created the miniature templates in three sizes  – in 1:3, 1:6 and 1:12 scales.

1:3 scale will be good for bigger dolls such as 18″ American Girl dolls.
1:6 scale would be ideal for the standard 1/6th scale dolls.

Although I usually don’t create templates in 1:3 scale, I thought it might be fun for kids to play with their dolls.
(Please supervise children as these templates are intended for adults)

Donut companies – here’s the opportunity.
Our whole country is talking about donuts at the moment.
And here is to the donut days – hopefully 🥂

[How to make the miniature donut template]

  1. Print and cut out the templates.
If you don’t have a printer at home, check with your local library, OfficeDepot, OfficeMax, Kinko’s, FedEx office or anywhere similar if they can print the PDF file/s for you.
  2. Cut the pieces out and glue
  3. I have used scrunched brown paper as the body of the donuts and glued the donut design on top.
The straw of 1:6 is a skewer and 1:12 a toothpick.
For 1:3 I used real size paper straw.
